Before the hike
Choose and prepare the hike
Good legs and good breath will take you higher. Going to the mountains means physically preparing yourself to face ups and downs, aware of your limits. For this, training and physical preparation come first. No need for overpowering athletic preparations, just change your lifestyle so that your legs start to develop the right muscles and feel tired afterwards.
A daily commitment is enough: take the stairs instead of taking the elevator, walk or bike when you can. Start approaching the mountains with small routes and then gradually increase the challenge.
